Jeeze, you people get on my ass if I skip a few days! Sometimes I'm too tired but mostly I just stay in the house every day, so the excitement factor goes down. We did put Buggy in a big boy bed last night. And he cried until ten thirty. That also might be a part of why there was no post. Also, a purdy picture of Lucy.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9055465709848109873.post-14494399304727999292012-06-25T18:06:00.000-07:002012-06-25T18:06:05.120-07:00Day Twenty Three.

Fabricworm had a huuuggeee online sale, randomly, last week. And I of course, had to indulge. I got this adorable print to make Lucy a dress and she loves it. Jude loves harassing the dog. During the day, the doggie has been hiding under my bed. When the kids go to sleep, he comes right back out. Coincidence? It's the weekend! And we have our own little slice of paradise in the backyard. The kids got a sprinkler today, which Jude was pretty apprehensive about. He probably got one drop of water on him. Lucy was drenched. I ran to the store to buy some eggs, honey and milk and went back outside to find my son wearing a huge pink helmet going down the slide. That pretty much sums up his entire personality. After dinner the kiddos had some cupcakes, which Lucy absolutely loved. It was nice to see them happy before we had to pull about 8 splinters from their feet from the damn playhouse...Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9055465709848109873.post-49559498178449334442012-06-13T16:01:00.000-07:002012-06-13T16:01:45.066-07:00Day Fifteen.

I found Swan Lake today. And it's gorgeous. I could have spent all day there. Plenty of shade and it was very serene. Although, my favorite part was the massive amount of turtles they had. I have a new love of turtles. And sloths. I'm exhausted...Just one of those never ending days. I just sat down and it's ten o'clock. I did however sew Jude a new Cars diaper cover. I love food. I will never be one of those scrawny girls because I love it that much. Every night I try to make something diferent, always from scratch and always vegetarian. Usually it costs me very little to make everything from the vegetable isle. For example, it cost me fifty dollars for a week's worth of dinners. All meatless, all healthy. I've pondered a food blog but I'm pretty aprehensive about it. I have no training with food, I just enjoy cooking and baking and food photography. In my free time I'm usually gazing at food porn or reading cookbooks. It's just a way to be creative...and full. Tonight I made a vegetable tian with blueberry bread for desert. It was yummy!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9055465709848109873.post-29852824982682765262012-06-08T15:59:00.000-07:002012-06-08T15:59:11.488-07:00Day Ten.

I spent most of today outside, getting a massive and awkard sun burn on my back, raking out our tree garden and laying down mulch. I hauled that mulch out of the walmart parking lot like a lumberjack. The yard still has a long way to go, the previous occupants left us with a big MESS, but it's getting there!

During our little visit to Columbia to fix the iPhone/ stuff our faces with Buffalo Wild Wings, I gave Lucy a dollar to buy a book at the bookstore. She was so excited, she carried it around for an hour. Until we actually went to pay for it and she lost it. I felt bad and gave her another dollar anyways, it was so cute though. She said "I'm crying because I'm sad because I lost my dollar." About four days after we finally got the keys to our new home, I had everything unpacked and decorated because I have a little bit of experience with moving. There is still a massive pile of paper sitting in our dining room, in place of a table, but other than that we finally have our routine going. And I've been cooking my head off.

Needless to say, the kids are elated to have their daddy back. Jude is pretty indifferent because he's Jude and only care about hotdogs and cars but he has been watching basketball a lot more than he used to.

I love South Carolina. It's just the right amount of country for me. And it's close to Myrtle Beach. We already went and it was one backroad highway to get there. It's nice not feeling so trapped like we did in Montana. And we are pretty close to Rhode Island, so we hopefully won't ever have to fly there. Here's a glimpse of what our drive home from base is like. xoxo, Mandie

The past year was amazingly difficult and every day was a countdown to normal life. Now, I wish time would slow down. I don't want Mike to leave us again and I just want to freeze time, with my babies the ages that they are and our family together. I love looking back at the old 365 and realizing some things haven't changed- I still have my trusty Nikon, a love of travel and two cutie pies to harass with my camera all day.
I really miss all you old ladies reading this...and I'm glad you begged me to bring back the 'little things'.
xoxo,
